...When I signed up for the 2008 Disney Half Marathon with my mom and three sisters! This was my training blog leading up to this event. Since I enjoyed blogging about my training sessions I thought I would just keep on blogging.

Sunday's workout
I started out doing my run of 4 miles but when I got to 1 1/2 miles my shins were hurting me so I turned around and went home.
Sorry to hear about the shin problem. I have a history of shin splints. For years this is mainly what held me back from becoming a better runner. There are things you can do to overcome this. The biggest thing that helps is consistency. Spreading out your miles during the week. Because starting can be the hardest and most painful part, if you don't have big gaps between runs or run/walks then it is not a shock your body and you'll have less pain and chance of injury. Also, before a run I like to stretch out my ankle by tracing out the alphabet with each foot, this has really helped me out in the past.
