Today is my last long run intill I run the Disney half-marathon. My mom and I went out together which was nice to have some one cheering you on when you feel like you can't go another mile. I was scheduled to do 11 miles but finished with 10 miles. The day really wasn't very nice day to run the wind was strong and the whole time we were out there it was in our faces (it would have been nice to have the wind pushing us but we didn't even get that). We did finish in 2hours and 36 minutes.
Total Miles for week 8: 17.23

I can't wait to see you wearing your big finisher's medal on Saturday! See you soon!
Congratulations on that last run! It's proof that you can do it! You'll be surprised how "easy" it'll be (mentally) once you get started. Race day magic isn't just toothfairy stuff - it exists! The hard part, believe it or not, is over - the race is so magical and fun and rewarding -- you won't believe it! Getting up in the morning, running miles upon miles upon miles by yourself with no one to cheer you on, or know what you did or if you did it - that's that hard stuff. Going to the race and having miles of cheerleaders, miles of support, and nourishment, and comforts, and entertainment, and a medal at the end - that's going to make it all worthwhile!
I hope I get to meet you Saturday - it's been fun following your blog. I am a non-runner turned runner, so I love reading that you've caught the bug and have races beyond Disney in your sights!!
Good for you Christy, you are going to make it! Can't wait to see you tomorrow!
