Week in Review

I have managed to workout 6 days this week but haven't been on the computer to blog about my workouts.
Tuesday:
I was up at the gym to do cardio on the treadmill. I had the incline set at 1.5 and did 45 minutes for 2.66 miles with a 16:40 average pace. I again walked 4 minutes and ran 1 minute.
Wednesday:
I had an appointment with Mark for a training session and man was it a hard workout. We worked on shoulders, biceps, triceps and then finished up with some ab work. By the time the training session was up I was starting to feel very tired but also had made up my mind to do cardio after the session was over. I did 15 minutes on the treadmill for .85 miles with an average pace of 17:38. I had did 5 minutes on the elliptical machine before my session so did a total of 20 minutes of cardio.
Thursday:
I went up to the gym with my mom to do do cardio. I wanted to use a different cardio machine today so I worked out on the ellipitcal machine. I normally get bored after 20 minutes on this machine or my toes start to feel numb. I did 45 minutes on the machine for 2.5 miles.
Friday:
I didn't workout today but can I count lifting heavy cages as a workout? I had helped my friend move her animals up to a friend's house for a while so with the unloading of the cages and carring them into the house felt like a workout but didn't count as one. So today was my day off from the gym.
Saturday:
The end of the week. I didn't really want to go to the gym today but there are going to be days like that and if you want to be healthy then push past that feeling and just go. I got ready to go to the gym and went up there with the mindset of if I'm still feeling like I don't want to be there after 20 minutes then I can go ahead and go home. Well needless to say I stayed for more time. When I got to the gym I headed upstairs to the treadmills there weren't that many empty ones left since 2 of them were out of order. I plug my headphones in to my phone to listen to music but was getting frustrated with having no sound and couldn't figure it out so started out with no music then my daughter called me to see if I had left yet so paused the treadmill to talk to her and then figured it out that the voulume button had been turned down. Then I started again on the treadmill with my music playing. A dear friend of mine had made me a cd of various country artists with one of my favorite songs from Sugarland called It Happens and Chicken Fried from Zac Brown Band. I have always hit the shuffle button so that I won't be tempted to keep pushing the back button to hear these two songs over and over. I ended up with 45 minutes on the treadmill for 2.69 miles with an average pace of 16:40. Towards the end of my workout I would walk for 3:50 minutes and run for 1:10 minutes. I am thinking that I may just gradually increase the time I run by 10 or 20 minutes to eventually I hit my goal of running a mile without stopping to walk.
Total Miles for the week
12.99 (not including elliptical miles)
15.49 (including the elliptical miles)

Good for you - you made great strides this week. Keep up the momentum, it will get easier the more you get accustomed to popping into the gym every day. It really gets to be a habit (or maybe an addiction???)
