Last workout for the week

WOW, I can't believe that I have worked out 6 days this week. That is a record for me. The training plan that I am using has me alternate between low and high milage every other week. This week it was 6.5 miles which I walked the whole time it took me 2 hours and 43 minutes to get 6.60 miles done by the time I got back to my house. My pace was 20.41 so I do know that I will need to work on the time as well since I will need to be able to have a 16 min/mile for the half marathon or the shuttle will definately pick me up. I have set the finish line as my goal for this race so I must train and not miss any of my workouts or I won't be able to finish the race. As I look at my training log I realize that Monday starts week 8 of my training log which means that I only have 20 more weeks intill the race.

What a great accomplishment to do over six miles! As for imcreasing your speed, try to increase your pace on your shorter workouts during the week. Leave your longer ones at a pace you can handle for the whole distance. If you push your pace for the short workouts, it will eventually improve your long distance pace too. Keep up the good work!
