This year my mom and I decided to do the Fort Worth Turkey Trot instead of the Dallas Turkey Trot that we have done the last two years. We just didn't want to have to deal with the crowds in Dallas and Fort Worth was a 10K instead of 8 miles. After finding a spot to park and walked up to where the race would start we noticed that it was 48 degrees outside.
Starbucks was giving out free cups of coffee and another store was giving out hot chocolate. Hmm that was a hard decision since I like both of them but I picked the hot chocolate (bigger cup) over Starbucks.
Along the race route...
I was glad to see the mile markers only 2.6 miles to go....
This is the second race that my mom and I stayed together throughout the race. She pushed me to run for 6 minutes and walk for 3 minutes except when there was a hill and then I walked up it. We finished it in 1:24:10 and my mom got third place in her age group Way to go Mom!!
